We get a lot of questions about Gappar’s color and plan to color gene test this year, but the high-contrast sooty sure seems to run in the family! Pictured is Pamel-Kan (Melesur x Pleyada) with two of his sons who were born lighter colored and darkened as they matured, Gappar-Dacor and Galapker-Dacor (both bred by Dacor Akhal-Teke Stud Farm). Gappar also sired a dark buckskin colt whose coat is almost black. We are excited to see what Galapker and Gappar produce this year! But of course, a good horse comes in any color.
