Algushbai, affectionately called Auggie, is a chestnut (nd1 gene) purebred Akhal-Teke. This expressive, playful, and flashy young horse has a depth of spirit and powerful, floating movement. He has a gorgeous head, nice height, and stunning chrome coat. Sensitive yet bold, he’s a joy to work with and responds well to lightness. He also loves to run and has great natural speed. Algushbai is by Akhal-Teke stallion Kevlin (Arin x Kamiah) from the Gelishikli Line and out of MV Fergazel (Gindarkh 13 x Fergan), who is a great granddaughter of Olympic Gold Medalist dressage stallion Absent through his best daughter Takappara 2, and daughter of Gindarkh 13 who held the highest grading level of Elite (given by the International Association of Horse Breeding in Russia). Algushbai very much inherited smooth, floating and fluid gaits through his paternal grandsire Arin who did well in western dressage and whose own sire’s beauty (Asman) inspired a horse sculpture series by Margarita Malova. Paternal great grandsire Melechan was a successful dressage horse in Germany and was one of the four Akhal-Teke stallions used to found the Nez Perce breeding program in America; he also sired the 1999/2002 Number One Ranked Elite purebred stallion in North America and Tevis Cup finisher, Astrachan. Algushbai’s pedigree compliments this on his maternal side with great granddam Fargona, who was dam of Astrachan. Maternal great grandsire Gaukhar 4 was a very successful racehorse, and Algishbai also carries forward the outstanding movement and type of Elite-grade offspring producer Mamuk. He is sure to contribute a strong yet balanced build, athletic versatility, and a good working mind to any breeding program.
