These stallions were bred primarily to American Appaloosa mares to breed away from the stockier workhorse and bring back the traditional Nez Perce warhorse type, which was tall and lean with good endurance and commonly carried a spotted coat.

Three of these stallions: Pazyryk, Pieter, and Mangus Colorado, were also bred and born in Wellington, Colorado! From CO’s first Akhal-Teke breeder, the German Eberhard Sprandel.
