We have been blown away by all the buzz this week of our golden palomino Akhal-Teke stud colt, Arpad (Persey-Geli x Angelina), and want to share a bit about his esteemed half-brother who speaks to the quality of their bloodlines. 🌟

This is Simba, another purebred Akhal-Teke stallion born 2020 by Sangam and out of same dam Angelina (Gundogar and Taifa family lines), bred by I.I. Grishina.

Simba’s story echoes the strong historical tradition of giving Akhal-Teke (Turk/Fergana) horses as royal and political gifts—and speaks to the fact that they are still treasured as such today. This tradition is particularly embedded in Caucasus and Central Asia regions, which have been central to some of history’s greatest equestrian powers.

In 2024, Akhal-Teke stallion Simba was given as a birthday gift to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, for his love of horses by the Chechen Republic Head Ramzan Kadyrov. He now lives at Mirziyoyev’s stables in Uzbekistan as a symbol of the two countries’ diplomatic relations.

Before moving to Uzbekistan, Simba also participated in the Equine Russia Akhal-Teke Horse Championships. He placed 2nd at the Regional Championship in St. Petersburg and 3rd at the Russian Cup in Moscow.

We are very excited and proud to represent his half-brother, Arpad, in North America thanks to his breeder Amina Liubitskaya. And we hope that he will bring further positive attention to the Akhal-Teke breed in our region.
