We were recently asked about literature on the Akhal-Teke horse, so to better share works about and related to the breed we’ve put together an online “reading nook”. 📚🤓🐎 In it we share titles of books, studies, and other publications—history, science, memoirs, and more—to guide your curiosity in the world of the Turkoman horse’s past, present, and future. It is not exhaustive, but they are some of our favorite findings.
One title included is one of the most widely recommended books to learn more about the Akhal-Teke. “The Golden Horse: The Legendary Akhal-Teke” by Aleksandr Klimuk and Artur Baboev. It is an exquisite visual collection of photographs of the breed with insight on their long history and enduring culture. It has had a constant presence at many Akhal-Teke events for people to flip through and is a stunning conversational table piece.
