Camille is a flashy, minimal sabino smoky black purebred Akhal-Teke mare currently on broodmare lease from Spring Hollow Farms of Kentucky. She has lovely gliding movements with big, free shoulders and a powerful hind. Camille is an extremely smart and sensitive mare who picks up even subtle changes, making her a quick study and independent thinker. She is known to be a caretaker for her riders and out on trail she has even picked her way home on her own when her rider was unable to. We are so excited to have her with us and very much looking forward to the first of her foals.

Camille is by Akhal-Teke stallion Maruk (Munir x Ataka) from the Ak Sakal Line and out of Amerta (Akjol 7 x Mera) from the Arab Line, and she comes from an extensive family of good producers. Her sire Maruk was bred at Akhaltekinets in Dubna, Russia before importing to the USA where he bred many quality foals. Camille’s paternal grandsire, Munir, is from Elite Grade mare Moroshka 18. He produced several quality offspring including Germes (Munir x Granka) who was a successful Russian racehorse and champion producer himself. Munir is also son of Vatanchi, one of the best representatives of the breed’s warhorse type built for endurance and hunting. Camille’s dam Amerta recieved Grade II marks at the Russia World Championship before importation to Canada. She comes from Rokot who is a well-known Grade I stallion produced at the famed Stavropol stud. Her maternal grandsire Akjol 7 has been an ideal sire for quality Arab line horses in Aserbaidjan, and her maternal great grandsire Aktash sired successful Grand Prix Dressage stallion Audán (Aktash x Gantiadi). In Camille’s dam side she also carries Ararat I, son of Olympic Gold Medalist stallion Absent.
