The Akhal-Teke Horse Association so beautifully featured our story about our ongoing whole genome and documentary project! We have been incredibly touched by the generous support of the Akhal-Teke community. Last fall we traveled around Europe to meet our project goals, where we inteviewed 24 Akhal-Teke owners and collected data on 80 purebreds. This year our project continues in North America. Our ultimate goal is to explore what makes the Akhal-Teke horse unique; We aim to help identify genetic indicators and patterns specific to the breed, and share what makes them special through the experiences of their people.
